Headrick Outdoor Fitness Classes Our hour long park fitness sessions in Falkirk run throughout the week in parks and gardens and on average burn between 450-700 calories (women) and 600-900 calories (men). Each of our fitness classes is designed to be different and contains a range of exercises that keep it fun and challenging to stop you from getting bored, or even worse, in your comfort zone. How fit do I need to be? Don’t worry, all the exercises at both the park sessions and the beach days can be taught to different abilities depending on individual fitness levels. We welcome people of all ages, sex, shapes, sizes and fitness levels. The Instructor will encourage everyone regardless of their fitness levels. You will not be shouted at or humiliated, just pushed to your maximum potential each and every time. You do not need to be fit before you train with us, so please don't think you need to get fit before signing up. We'll get you fit, that's the point. What can I expect from these fitness classes? Our outdoor fitness classes are focused on keeping the whole group moving at a dynamic pace by varying intensity and exercises and you will be educated as to how hard you can train with a qualified instructor. In between walking lunges, tricep dips, burpees, sumo squats, planks and running you will participate in team challenges but don’t be afraid, this isn’t like PE at school or some kind of bootcamp - it is actually really good fun, we promise. What's the difference between our sessions and an hour in the gym? Our sessions will always start with a 10 minute warm up to get your body ready for exercise and will then focus on a whole range of exercises from team games to partner exercises, individual effort, sprints, a mixture of high and low intensity exercises, followed by a cool down and stretch at end. That is 60 minutes of good solid exercise focusing on the following 5 principles of Physical Fitness. 1) Muscular Endurance 2) Muscular Strength 3) Cardiovascular Fitness 4) Flexibility 5) Motor Skills Compare this to an hour spent in the gym where you may only touch on some muscular endurance, strength, cardio fitness and, if you are a diligent exerciser, flexibility. You will not only save time exercising your whole body but you are guarenteed to challenge your full range of skills which is something you're unlikely to do in an hours gym session. How will I feel at the end of the session? The high intensity of each session and the encouragement from your team mates during the training means by the end of the session, you will feel exhilarated. Whatever the weather, you will have had a big dose of vitamin D which will have a positive effect on your wellbeing as being close to nature is proven to be stimulating and restorative.
